Camp reply slip

2nd Bracknell Scout Group will be 50 years old in 2010.

We are marking the year with a special camp in July and also a badge to wear on our uniform.

Design a badge
We invite you to design our 50th birthday badge. The winning entrant will have their design turned into a fabric badge for the whole group to wear on their uniform. Afterwards you can transfer the badge onto your camp blanket/sleeping bag. So if you are feeling artistic, draw your design on the badge template and hand into your Leader.
All entries are to be submitted by 31st December 2009. An independent jury will choose the winning design and the winner will be notified in the New Year. Please note the winning design may have a few changes made to it to assist in it’s manufacture, however we will agree these with the winner beforehand.

When designing your badge please try to include the following key points:

  • 50 years
  • Scout emblem
  • 2nd Bracknell Scout Group
  • Colour

Anniversary Camp - 24 to 31 July 2010
We have decided that a fitting way to mark this occasion is to have week camp open to all sections. It will run from Saturday 24th July to Saturday 31st July at Phasels Wood Camp Site near Kings Langley where both the Cub and Scout sections have had several camps in the past. The Cub, Scout & Explorer sections will be attending for the full week, but the Leaders realise that this may be too much for some of the younger Cubs and so, as in previous years, we will also be offering a mini Cub camp (Saturday 24th July – Wednesday 28th July). Beavers and their families are invited to join us for their own mini camp from Sunday 25th July – Wednesday 28th July although all Beavers must bring at least one parent/guardian to camp.
With over 160 young people in the group, it takes some organising. To help us get an idea of the level of interest please complete the reply slip and return it to your leaders with a £10 deposit. As camp is in the early planning stages the costs are still being finalised but it is anticipated that the likely costs will not be more than:

  • Beavers & parent not exceeding £120
  • Cubs (mini camp) £100
  • Full Week (Cubs, Scouts & Explorers) £150
