District Quiz 2003

2nd Bracknell

The District Quiz took place on Saturday 8 March at Coopers Hill Youth and Community Centre in Bracknell.

To enter the quiz you need to have a team of 3 comprising one 8 year old, a 9 year old and a 10 year old. This year we entered 3 teams between the 2 packs.

A Matthew Cox (10), Daniel Jordan (9), Fraser Woods (8)
B Ben Molyneux (10), Dean Harry (9), Stuart Allen (8)
C Jamie Begg (9), Daniel Gathergood (9), Matthew Dye (8)

The quiz was in two parts. The questions rounds included sections on Scouting, the weather, world cultures and geography. Then there were the practical rounds which included identifying road signs, memory games and a taste test. Once all the teams had completed all the rounds the scores were added together.

Scores at this point were as follows, with the top 4 teams (coloured yellow) going forward to the semi-finals:

7th Bracknell

2nd Bracknell A

The 2 semi-finals were 7th Bracknell v 2nd Bracknell A and 1st Ascot C v 6th Bracknell. Unfortunately for 2nd Bracknell we were beaten in the semi-final where the questions on flags and saints proved a little tricky.

The final was between 7th Bracknell and 6th Bracknell and was won by 7th who now go forward to represent our District at the County Quiz on 29 March.

Very well done to all those who took part. I hope that you all had an enjoyable afternoon.
