Visit
to Waltham Place Farm
- 9/14 May
Our evening meeting on Friday 9th May (Mounties) and
Wednesday 14th May (Lumberjacks) will be held at Waltham Place
Farm and will run from 5.30pm – 7.00pm. The evening will consist
of activities such as leaf mould heap foraging; mini-beast
study; building a food chain (interactive game); building big
bird’s nests in the woods; walk around farm to see the animals.
We will be exploring issues around the misuse of pesticides,
conservation, crop growing and organic farming. We hope that
every Beaver will attend as this exciting event is a unique
opportunity which has been specially created for us by staff at
Waltham Place Farm to help us look at difficult issues in a fun
and creative way. If you would like to attend please return the
consent form (updated note
for Summer term).
Gilwell Park funday - 22 June
We will again be attending the funday at Gilwell Park
this year. Our trip takes place on Sunday 22 June and is
open to Cubs and Beavers. A note giving more information has
been issued. Please return the
consent form if
you are going on this trip.
Visit to Grays Farm - 2/4 July
We will be visiting Grays Farm near Wokingham in our
colony meetings in July. There is an extra cost of £1.50 and
the meeting will run from 6pm to 7.30pm. We will have a tour
of the farm, see how the fruit and vegetables are grown and
pick some to take home. If you would like to reserve your
place please return the slip on the
Grays Farm note.
Fund
raising the easy way
2nd Bracknell has joined the "buy.at" network which means
that we earn commission on things you buy online if you go
through our online shop at
http://buy.at/2ndbracknell. You'll find over 80
retailers there including M&S, Expedia, play.com, Amazon, John
Lewis, CD-wow, Thorntons and Field & Trek. You pay the normal online
price which is generally less than on the High Street so you
can raise money for us and still save money.
Getting
in touch
We've made
getting in touch by e-mail very easy. There are no complicated
e-mail addresses to remember. All you need to do is type
in the leaders colony name, e.g. merlin, and then add
@2ndbracknell.co.uk. Alternatively you can complete our
enquiry
form.
Scout
Shop
If you need uniform then the Scout Shop is the place to
go. The Scout Shop page has more details and includes
a map showing how to get there.
Moving on
to Cubs?
For more information about Cubs you can see their Welcome Guide.
Badge
Requirements
We don't publish the requirements for badges on our
site. To ensure that you are looking at the latest information
it is better to go to the Beaver Scout section of
Scoutbase and look up the badge you
need. There's a link to "Badges & Awards"
on the left of every page. If you want to know where to
sew those precious badges you'll find that information on
Scoutbase too.
