Activities guest list
You can find more information on this page about the
following forthcoming Cub events:
District Camp,
District Football,
Dine at WINGS,
Summer Camp,
Parent & Child Camp and
Narrowboating.
Now is the time to book your place if you want to come to
District Camp, Summer Camp or narrowboating in September. We
also need you to let us know if you'd like to represent 2nd
Bracknell in the District Football Competition. All the
details are below and you'll find a link to that
all-important reply slip. If you have already returned a
slip for these events then your name should be on our
guest list. If not,
please tell Baloo.
District Cub Camp: 10–12 July
We only have a District Camp every two years so they are
always special occasions when Cubs from across South East
Berks camp together. This year we are having a District Camp
at Chalfont Heights Campsite at Chalfont St Peter. The theme
of this camp is Pirates and certain to be a lot of fun. The
cost of the camp is £35 and you can reserve a place by
completing the reply slip
with a deposit of just £10. We are likely to need some help
from parents on this camp, so if you are able to help please
let us know on the reply slip. For an idea of the activities
have a look at
District Camp 2006 which had a pirate theme.

District Six-a-side Football Competition - 19th July
One other district event that is always in the summer term
is the District Cubs Six-a-Side football competition. Last
year 2nd Bracknell managed to win the trophy and we would
quite like to win again! The competition will be held at
Binfield FC on Sunday 19th July. There is usually quite a
number of Cubs who want to play, so if you would like to be
considered for the 2nd Bracknell teams, please complete the
reply slip below. If
any Mum or Dad is willing to manage the teams on the day, it
will make life easier for the leaders, so please let us
know. We particularly need some of our younger cubs as we
are restricted to only playing a maximum of 2 ten year olds
at any one time.
Come dine at WINGS: 5
August
The group is sending a large
contingent of Scouts and Explorers to the WINGS
international camp in Windsor Great Park this summer. If you
are aged 9 or 10 then you can visit the camp on the
Wednesday evening. For more
information and the reply slip please see our WINGS
note.
Summer Camp: 15-19 August
Because we will have already had a week’s camp at Cubjam
2009, this year we will not be having a week long Summer
Camp. However, for the leaders it wouldn’t be summer if we
didn’t go away! So we have decided to have a short camp in
August with our friends from 1st Billingshurst and will be
going to Bentley Copse at Shere in Surrey. We last went here
for our
Jungle camp weekend in June 2007. We have had a number
of replies but there are still plenty of spaces available. The
costs are likely to be approximately £90. If you would like
to go, please complete the
reply slip.
District parent & child camp: 18-20
September
South and South East Berkshire
Districts come together for the annual parent and child camp
at Earleywood in September. This year the theme is "enviro
camp". The costs will be £9 per head plus food costs which
will be known nearer the date. Places are limited to 300
campers across both districts so we need to reserve our
places as soon as possible. To reserve your place please
e-mail CW with the names of the campers that would like to
take part. A £4 deposit will be required when places are
confirmed. Should you need to borrow a tent we hope that the
group will be able to help you out.
Narrowboating: 25-27
September
Next term we will be repeating our narrowboating trip.
We last did this in May 2008 and
pictures are available by clicking on past events. We
will be using two boats, but to give as many Cubs as
possible the opportunity to go on this trip, we have decided
to have two groups. One group will leave Bracknell in the
minibus on Friday evening, overnight on the narrowboat,
travel up (or down!) the canal on Saturday and return to
Bracknell Saturday evening. The second group will then leave
Bracknell, overnight on the narrowboat, travel on the canal
on Sunday and return Sunday evening. The costs are still to
be confirmed but are likely to be about £30, and you can
reserve a place with a deposit of £10 and by completing the
reply slip.
Please indicate if you would like to be in group one or two.
Group
T-Shirts
The Cub Uniform includes an optional
green polo shirt but we would prefer you to wear our blue
group T-shirt. New t-shirt stock is now available with sizes
up to age 12-13. Cub sized shirts cost £6 each
and are ideal for wear in the Summer Term instead of your
sweatshirt.
Fund raising the easy way
2nd Bracknell has joined the "buy.at" network which means
that we earn commission on things you buy online if you go
through our online shop at
http://buy.at/2ndbracknell. You'll find over 100
retailers there including M&S, HMV, play.com, Amazon, Thorntons, Expedia and Waterstones. You pay the
normal website price so you can raise money for us without
spending a penny extra.

when possible. We call them e-notes
and you'll find a list of the current ones on the
menu bar at the left of the page. All of these
notes are in Word format.

frequently
asked questions such as what is the Law and Promise and a
chart to show where the badges go.
Badge Requirements
We don't publish the requirements for badges on our
