2nd Bracknell was formed in 1960 and used to meet in a hut on
the London Road. In the 1970s we moved to our purpose built hut
in Freeborn Way.
Barry Smith
and Ivy Riggs played a big part in the running of the group with
over 25 years of service to 2nd Bracknell.
Our Group is made up of:
Each section
is led by trained adult leaders, watched over by a Group
Scout Leader (GSL) who
co-ordinates the work of all the sections. Our GSL is
Steve Prower. You can contact him via our
Enquiry form.
Although we may not always be able to take new children,
we are always looking for new adults to become leaders in
any of our sections. If you would like to know more please
see our "Join us" page to find out
more.

Getting in
touch
Most of our leaders have easy to remember e-mail
addresses that are in the format
firstname.surname@2ndbracknell.co.uk. The exceptions are the
Beaver and Cub leaders who use their colony name or pack
name (e.g. Baloo) instead.
Badge Requirements
We
don't publish the requirements for badges on our site. To
ensure that you are looking at the latest information follow
the link to Badges & Awards
and find the badge on Scoutbase. You can also find
information about
where the badges go on your uniform.
Scout Shop
If you need uniform then the Scout Shop is the place to
go. The Scout Shop page
has more details and includes
a map showing how to get there.
Fund raising the easy way
2nd Bracknell has joined the "buy.at" network which means
that we earn commission on things you buy online if you go
through our online shop at
http://buy.at/2ndbracknell. You'll find over 150
retailers there including M&S, Expedia, play.com,
Amazon, HMV and Waterstones. You pay the
normal online price which is generally less than on the High
Street so you can raise money for us and still save money.
See our fund raising page for
more information.

Thanks to around 80% of the group that have registered their
Subs payments for Gift Aid we claimed £1353 in 2006. That's
the equivalent of 2 Christmas Fairs, 5 sponsored walks
or 10 jumble sales. It's easy money for us so if you haven't
registered for Gift Aid - or would like to check whether
you have or not, please see the Gift Aid e-note or contact our
Treasurer.
Join Us
We are always
pleased
to receive offers of adult support - whether
on a regular or occasional basis. If you would like to help
please contact your leaders or see our "Join
Us" page. You can get involved at whatever level
you want - from one night a term to becoming a uniformed
leader and helping every week. We also have vacancies behind
the scenes on our Group Executive Committee.
